Welcome to our winter hours. You’ll see that Tuesday is the only pick up option. If you ever need anything a different day just let us know and we will try to accommodate.
The farm store will still be set up for shopping as the veggies are still producing. I suspect we will have them for a few more weeks. Once the weather cools and the veggies stop we will only be open for preorders (the barn store just gets too cold).
Also mark your calendars! October 30th we will be set up in Troy with some other amazing vendors. We will be set up at Popup (right downtown on Main Street. It’s not too early to do some holiday shopping! Troy is having their Trick or Treat event downtown too so bring the whole family.
Thanks to everyone for a great summer season. Hope to see you even as the weather finally cools!

This is the last week we will have the store set up on Friday and Saturday. Get your orders in for bread or just stop in to get some fresh, local veggies. We will still have sweet and hot peppers, eggplants, tomatoes, garlic, herbs, kale, and chard.
After this week we will be going to just Tuesday for the store/ ordering.
Also we will be set up on Sunday for Saint Mary’s annual Walk With Nature! Hope to see you there.

As you’ll see we’ve started taking some veggies off the online market. The garden is slowing down rapidly right now so it’s getting harder to figure out how much to list. We will still have tomatoes/peppers/eggplants in the store – we just can’t guarantee quantities before hand!
I’ve also had to remove the Asiago and Tomato Asiago bagels off until I can source blocks of Asiago again (sadly Kroger has stopped selling the blocks). If anyone has a source let me know!
We had a great time at the Handmade Harvest event in Minster last week. Thanks to those of you who came out to visit!!!
This week we continue to bottle the fall honey this week as well as starting to clean the wax to use in lip balms in the future. We are also continuing to shear the goats. Speaking of the goats, we just got word that Frankie Mittens was declared the Reserve Grand Champion in a fleece show in Oregon (we mailed in her fiber after her haircut)! Woohooo. We have high hopes for her in the future. We also continue to can, dehydrate, and freeze as much as possible before the garden stops producing. And now all the fall prep and cover cropping must begin… can’t believe it’s September already.

We have been busy extracting honey this week. It’s not quite done yet, but we are somewhere around 350-400lbs! So much sweet goodness and our bees have had amazing access to a plethora of local weeds. Stock up for the winter now! I haven’t listed this new honey for preordering yet but we plan to have some bottled and labeled by Friday if everything goes as planned.
This week is also a bit more hectic for us as we will be setting up at Handmade Harvest at Hausfeld Motors in Minster Friday afternoon 2-7 and Saturday morning 9-12. Come see us and a bunch of other local crafters/artists. Shop local – it’s never too early to start thinking about the holidays!
We will also still be attending the Sidney Farmers market Saturday. I will try to get bread baked for both venues (and pick up at the farm store) but if you want something in particular please preorder – otherwise I can’t guarantee I’ll have the same selection as normal.
Other than that our selection looks the same as last week. We do have the first of our Delicatta squash picked and will have some pumpkins available starting Friday. Also, I’ve cleaned up the last of the Music and Russian Giant garlic so it won’t be around for much longer (we still have more of the other varieties for now). Get your winter stock or seed heads now!
See you this weekend!!!!

We are open for orders now through Thursday night. We have other varieties of peppers that aren’t yet listed here (ajvarski, escamillo, spicy paprika’s, and the first lemon drops of the season) so remember to shop the store when you pick up your orders!
A little farm news for you – Logan (our pygora wether) won Grand Champion Wether at the Michigan Fiber Festival Pygora Show this past weekend! Matt proudly hung his ribbons in the store so you all could admire them! And we pick up a new buck on Thursday!
See you this week!

Just kidding! The farm store will be open this coming weekend and Matt will be bringing vegetables to the Farmers Market. So get your orders in and put him to work!!! There will be no bread pick up available on Friday or Saturday. You can order bread and pick it up on Tuesday. I a heading up to Michigan to prance around in a ring with more of our goats. Fingers crossed they behave!
All the peppers are really coming into full swing right now. I’ve added some to the order form or shop in person to see the other varieties.
Try out some Shishito’s if you haven’t already. We have been told that 1 in 10 can be hot though we have eaten a lot of them and haven’t had a hot one yet. They are delicious just simply sauteed whole in a pan with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper. Or spice it up and add a drizzle of your favorite sauce just before serving.
