For all you English muffin lovers make sure to come out to the farm store this Tuesday for our last ‘guest feature’ with the amazing Debbie Walker! The farm store will only be open for a couple more Tuesdays while veggies last so don’t wait! If you know you want English muffins feel free to give me a heads up and I’ll set some aside for you.

Besides muffins we will still have peppers, kale, squashes and pie pumpkins on Tuesday, as well as a new batch of goatmilk soap, hot pepper honey, and wheat berries ready for all your cold weather stews!!!
A new batch of wheat goes to the mill this week so we’ll have local flour to keep your baked goods going all winter! Keep your eyes peeled for a flour sale coming soon!

Remember to visit Matt at Walk with Nature in Saint Marys tomorrow! And thanks again for sticking with us for another great season!

Head out to the store today for the last Friday pick up of the year. We still have tomatoes, peppers, squashes and pie pumpkins, and herbs and will have our typical assortment of fresh baked bagels out!

We will still have the store open on Tuesdays while vegetables remain… probably just 2-3 weeks or so. Bread, jam, soap, flour, wheat berries, and any remaining honey will be available for preordering throughout the winter. And you are more than welcome to swing in for eggs as normal.

Speaking of eggs, we know they are laying slowly right now. For those that don’t know, chicken egg laying is directly correlated to day lengths so these shorter days have slowed them down. We will probably be moving the chickens up to the barn (their winter spot) soon at which time we will extend their days with a well timed morning light which will hopefully get them laying again. For now though we’ll let them enjoy a few more days of a well deserved break.

If anyone is out and about next weekend you can visit Matt on Sunday the 20th at Walk with Nature in Saint Marys. Or you can come see me the 19th-20th at the Autumn Fiber Fest and get your Wool fix! We’ll also be at the last Sidney Farmers Market for the year tomorrow during their Boos and Brews Festival! And if we don’t see you , thanks for another great year! We couldn’t do it without you!

For those that missed the announcement on social media – Mari from Bakery Three (a Japanese style bakery in Saint Marys) will be filling the farm store with treats tomorrow. She will have available:

- Sio pan rolls which are salty buttery dinner rolls, 5pcs in a bag $6.25
-Apple crumble rolls for $4.50
- Chestnut roll for $4

They look absolutely delicious!

We also still have some of Barney Kuck’s German butterball potatoes, which I have to say, make amazing smashed potatoes! And we will have some of his sweet potatoes in the store this week as well.

Stop out and stock up on the last of the summer produce while it’s still available. We only have about a month left of the farm store’s summer hours!

Get your orders in to Jenn by tomorrow if you would like to pick up her fresh baked and delicious kreppels at the farm store on Tuesday! It looks like there are apple filled ones this week which will be a perfect fall treat – though I’m definitely getting the hazelnut ones too!

If anyone has bags – paper or plastic – please feel free to drop them off in the store. We are dangerously low so even if you don’t have bags to donate think about bringing your own reusable bags to fill up with veggies.

And thanks to the wonderful person who secretly dropped off a mum the other day! It will be nice to have some fall color outside the store. We always mean to decorate more but find we run out of time and energy so we truly appreciate the gesture!
