This is a hard email to write. We are leaving soon to bring Max to the vet for the last time. I have no words right now for that. But I am writing because we were supposed to go to a market today in Piqua and won’t be able to attend. We have bread made and ready for eating though. If you would like to help us out and get some bread it is in the farm store in the coolers. All are $6. There are focaccia , and bagels: cheddar hot pepper, blueberry, everything, and mixed bags. Thanks.

Eggs for Easter!!!!

We have a plethora of eggs this week and the chickens are laying well so if you need eggs for your upcoming Easter brunch’s time to stock up!

We also have some spinach listed this week along with our mixed kale bags. These would be great for a salad or cooked in a quiche with your eggs!!!!

You can find us this week for in person shopping at the Halls of Hanover Spring Market in Minster , Saturday 9-12. We will be breaking out the first goatmilk soap of the year for this market.

Next weekend , Saturday March 23rd you can find us in Bowling Green for the Black Swamp Spinners Guild Market Day. For anyone who wants anything fiber related that will be the place to be!

We still haven’t set our official date for the reopening of the farm store for in person shopping but we have slowly been putting things back in. We are thinking mid April probably!

We are hoping to get the first syrup finished and bottled tomorrow! The boiler has been chugging along all week but we wait until we have two – 3 large pots taken off before we take inside to finish more delicately on the range. It will be available for Tuesday pick up!

We still have lettuce, tatsoi, pac Choi and a couple bags of arugula available for pick up this week as well.

And new jams made and listed this week include Peach, Raspberry, Hot Pepper, Peach Raspberry, and Peach Hot Pepper. Everything but the original Hot Pepper Jam are low sugar varieties.

If anyone is planning on being in Troy next Tuesday we will be set up with many other great vendors at the Miami County Locally Grown Valentine’s Market at First Place Christian Center 3:30 – 6:30!

New veggie alert!!!! Matt says that there are a small amount of Muir lettuce heads and tatsoi ready to pick this week. We also still have some pac Choi – it’s med to large now. So get your organic winter greens while still available. Supplies are limited!

I also made a new batch of hot pepper jam and peach hot pepper jam. The goal is to make lots of jam the next few weeks so I will keep you posted. If anyone is hoarding 8oz jam jars we can pay $.50 per jar – and they don’t have to be our jars originally as long as they are 8oz canning jars. Not sure if you’ve noticed how crazy jar prices are getting, but the more returns we get the easier it will be not to raise prices!

We are also nearing the end of our fall honey run so stock up now if you don’t think you can make it until June. I would estimate our supplies will only last this month.

And for all you syrup lovers out there, we are tapping trees tomorrow!!!!! It won’t be long now!

Thanks for everyone that took advantage of the egg sale. There are a few left in the store but you pretty much wiped us out so today is the last day of the sale. What is in the farm store is what we have. If you placed orders I have yours set aside for later this week.

Fingers crossed for slightly warmer weather soon!

Brrrrrrrrrrr - Egg Sale!!!!!

It has been a chilly week on the farm as I am sure you are all struggling with as well. The critters are all snug in the barn but I know that they are dreaming of a day when the temp will hit 30 … or even 20 or 10 for that matter.

Due to the cold we moved all the eggs inside. I did put out some in the big fridge today (with a light on) in case people were coming to pick up. If the big fridge is empty please call the house phone for a refill 419-753-2531 or Matt’s phone 541-505-4494. Eggs this week (through next Tuesday or while supplies last) are $3/dozen. We’d like to move them (plus the fridge inside isn’t as big as the outside ones).

Also the Pac Choi row is still delicious so get your orders in for some homegrown winter greens. For the fresh greens, If you missed this weeks order, we can definitely put some out for you any other day. Just leave a note in the comments when you want to pick up. I’d love to see it get eaten! All orders will be placed in the big fridge this week to keep them from freezing.

We hope to have kale, arugula, and lettuce soon too if they all survive this cold snap. They are growing super slow at this point.

Stay warm out there!

Better yet- come get your shopping done, see some other great vendors, and grab a meal and drink!

Also at the Sip and Shop today I will have some fresh baked sourdoughs. I’m still working on the recipe a bit using our homegrown flour but it made a fantastic breakfast slice.

I will also have some lightly spiced honey roasted peanuts for all you nut lovers! $4 for a 10 oz bag. Not to toot my own horn, but these are addicting , so don’t plan on sharing!

Ordering is open for the week! I do have the last four 1/2 pound bags of bourbon spiced nuts still available if anyone missed out. I also just roasted up some lightly smoked and salted almonds. I will be bringing them to Carraige Hill Metropark on Saturday 11-4. – so come see us there or let me know if you want any! They have a whole ‘ Christmas on the Farm’ event going on with many family activities and historical demonstrations.

This is our last planned in person market of the season. As the days get closer to the holidays, If there is anything you want, but we don’t have listed here, please feel free to reach out. We truly appreciate your business. You are the reason we can farm full time! Thank you!!!
